The ASEAN Secretariat was established in 1976 by the Foreign Ministers of the ASEAN Member States with basic functions of providing greater efficiency in the coordination of ASEAN organs and for more effective implementation of ASEAN projects and activities. It is also envisioned to be the nerve centre of a strong and confident ASEAN Community that is globally respected for acting in full compliance with its Charter and in the best interest of its people.
In alignment with the ASEAN 2025 and Key Aspirations of the three pillars of the ASEAN Community, namely the ASEAN Political-Security Community (APSC), the ASEAN Economic Community and the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community, supported by the Department of Community and Corporate Affairs, the ASEAN Secretariat is inviting qualified Indonesian Citizens or ASEAN Nationals who are already residing and eligible to work in Indonesia to apply for the position of Officer for ASEAN Connectivity Division (ACD), Office of Secretary-General.
Remuneration and Benefits:
Successful candidate will be offered a basic salary of IDR 16,835,950 and attractive remuneration package including monthly transportation allowance, outpatient medical reimbursement, hospitalisation & life insurance, annual bonus of a month’s basic salary, and gratuity. Subject to good performance during the probation, the candidate will be offered a fixed term contract of three (3) years, inclusive of the six-month probationary period. Please note that ASEAN Secretariat Staff shall not be retained in active service beyond the age of 60 years.

Reporting to the Director, Assistant Director and Senior Officer of ASEAN Connectivity Division, the Officer shall be responsible for the following duties:
1. Provide technical support, including preparation of briefing notes, presentation materials, and information papers, to the implementation of the strategies, key actions and priority projects in the Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity (MPAC) 2025 and upcoming ASEAN Connectivity Strategic Plan (ACSP), and support the coordination of cross-sectoral matters related to connectivity.
2. Provide technical administrative support to the relevant meetings and activities of ASEAN bodies, especially the ASEAN Connectivity Coordinating Committee (ACCC) and Lead Implementing Body for Sustainable Infrastructure (LIB-SI) meetings.
3. Support the preparation of briefing notes and talking points, as well as any other relevant inputs related to the issues under the Division’s purview, as and when requested by other Divisions or ASEAN Member States.
4. Participate in sector and thematic networks related to connectivity to keep abreast of latest developments and issues.
5. Monitor the utilisation of ACD and project budgets to ensure that expenditures are properly accounted for and that deviations are justified.
6. Support the Division in undertaking substantive work on ASEAN Connectivity and any other duties assigned.

Advance university degree (Master’s or equivalent degree) in Economics, Management, International Relations and/or an appropriate related field or discipline; or Bachelor degree with a minimum two (2) years relevant work experience in technical role.

Demonstrated knowledge and policy, research and technical skills in the relevant area and ability to acquire them.

Proven skills in problem solving in a complex organisational environment and in work planning.
